FYI- Interesting Doc
So, there's going to be this documentary on PBS tonight about the "Trail of Tears". I'm sure we have all hear about the infamous push for Native Americans to move westward, whether they liked it or not. But I think it would be an interesting doc to check out because it may show the tendencies of Americans to push to get what they want. As part of Andrew Jackson's "Indian Removal Policy", over 10,000 Cherokee Indians had to leave their homes in search of new land to settle. Close to half of them died on the journey, and for what reason? It was their land. They were here first. I think that this ties in with the colonization aspect of the "Why We Fight" film. Of course it is a different time, and the way we fight, i.e. technology, is different, but the foundation of it is about the same. Should be worth checking out the PBS viewpoint of the matter.
