Swine Flu Post 1

So considering we have to post 3 times during the semester I figured starting now would be a good idea. Considering we've been talking about technology and medicine I feel that it is a good idea to blog about the swine flu and why we haven't found a cure for it yet. This is a situation where technology is a good thing and can help the people of the united states and the world be immune to this new flu. I do not know much about the swine flu except that it originated in Mexico and has something to do with pigs. It has not been long since we've found our first case in the United States but hopefully it wont be much longer before we find a cure using our advances in technology to help us. I do not know how serious this sickness is but it seems to be pretty serious considering sports are being cancelled for the next month in states like Texas and Alabama so I hope by the end of May or even earlier, the qualified doctors of this country can find a vaccine for this swine flu.

I read that they were hoping they'll have a vaccine in 6 months, so by the end of May it seems too hopeful, unfortunately.

Yeah, I heard that apparently hospital are more worried about the swine flu in the fall because that is when flu season regularly is. It is not as bad as it is going to get. I'm not sure how accurate that is I just got told that from someone who's mother is a nurse. She said that they believe it'll get worse in the fall semester than it is at this point which is kind of scary.

There have been two cases of the swine flu in Lowell.. I think it was two kids who went to mexico and brought it back with them but didn't infect anyone else as far as I know. Hopefully that's the closest it'll get =/
